Last week my mother and I went for a short trip to the South of the Netherlands, to Limburg province. We stayed in a beautiful hotel Chateau St. Gerlach from a Relais & Chateaux chain in a small town of Valkenburg which is only 20 minutes away from Maastricht – the main city of the province. The land of the hotel includes a beautiful rose garden, its own church, vineyards and a spa center. Living in this hotel you feel like a medieval princess! I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway from the city to enjoy the beautiful nature of the South of the Netherlands.
P.s. While we were staying at the hotel, the Rolling Stones band was staying there as well before their performance at the Pink Pop Festival. Because of this the hotel was always surrounded by crowds of fans trying to get a glimpse of their idols.
На прошлой недели мы с мамой отправились в небольшое путешествие на юг Голландии, в провинцию Лимбург. Мы выбрали очень красивый отель в небольшом городке Фалкенбург, который находится в 20 минутах езды от Маастрихта – главного города провинции. Отель Chateau St. Gerlach представляет собой целое поместье, на территории которого есть собственная церковь с кладбищем, сад роз, несколько ресторанов, спа центр и виноградные поля. Проживая в в этом отеле, ощущаешь себя как минимум принцессой времен Средневековья!
Кстати, одновременно с нами в этом отеле проживала группа The Rolling Stones, приехавшая в Голландию, чтобы выступить на фестивале Pink Pop. В связи с этим вокруг отеля постоянно сталпливался народ с камерами и в футболках с эмблемами группы.
