Baden-Baden – is one of my favorite destinations in Europe. Despite its small size there are a lot of things to do in Baden-Baden. This city is beautiful in any season: it is great to come here at Christmas time and visit its wonderful Christmas market, at the end of the summer the Grand Festival week (and the Horse races) take place and in spring and fall Baden-Baden is incredibly colorful! Today I want to share with you some things that I think you should do when in Baden-Baden. Here are my top 10!

Baden-Baden is a city of ups and downs which makes it a perfect place for observing beautiful views. One of my favorite observation points is the one behind the Marktplatz that offers a stunning view on the Stiftskirche with the Black Forest in the background.
Баден – Баден – город спусков и подъемов и именно поэтому здесь можно найти очень много точек, откуда открываются безумной красоты виды. Одна из моих любимых смотровых площадок находится за Marktplatz – отсюда открывается невероятный вид на церковь и Шварцвальд.
I love to walk around the city without any particular destination. This is where I get to discover the hidden treasure of the city, such as this beautiful hidden backyard that we found this time. Baden-Baden is full of such beautiful locations!

I love schnitzel and if it is on the menu, I will always get it. This time we have tried the schnitzel from the Löwenbräu restaurant in the center of the city and it was delicious! The meat was very soft and was melting in my mouth. It is best to pair schnitzel with a glass of beer.
Я очень люблю шницель и если он есть в меню, то мой выбор всегда очевиден. В этот раз мы попробовали шницель в ресторан Löwenbräu в центре города и не разочаровались! Мясо оказалось очень нежным и просто таяло во рту. Мой совет – заказать к шницелю бокал одноименного пива!
Lichtentaler Allee is the heart of the city of Baden-Baden. It is 2.3 kilometres long and has a lot of attractions along the way. One of my favorites is the Rose Garden which is truly magical in the season of roses. Also, the famous Frieder Burda museum of modern art is located along the Allee. I love to walk here in any season and breathe in the air of the Black Forest.
Лихтентальская аллея – настоящее сердце Баден-Бадена. Длиной в 2,3 километра, аллея является идеальным местом для прогулок в любое время года. Именно здесь находится знаменитый музей современного искусства Frieder Burda и волшебной красоты сад роз.
Baden-Baden is a spa city and is most famous for its thermal baths. The Roman-Irish Friedrichsbad baths of Baden-Baden are 125 years old and include the combination of different pools, showers and steam rooms for an ultimate relaxation! Another option is to spend a day at the Caracalla spa – the spa center with an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, solarium etc.
Баден-Баден известен в мире своими оздоровительными и спа-центрами с термальными водами. Фридрихсбад – римско-ирландские бани, расположенные в центре города, которые функционируют уже 125 лет. Еще один известный спа-центра – Caracalla spa – с открытым и закрытым бассейном, сауной, соляриумом и тд.
During your stay in Baden-Baden, catch bus 204 or 205 from the center of the city (Leopoldpslatz) and get off at the Merkurwald stop. Here you can get the cable car that will take you to the top of Merkur mountain. The observation point offers an amazing view of the city and its surroundings. In the summertime, you can also have lunch with the view at the restaurant at the top.
Во время отдыха в Баден-Бадене, сядьте на 204 или 205 автобус на площади Leopoldsplatz и отправляйтесь до остановки Merkurwald. Отсюда отправляется фуникулер на вершину горы Меркур, откуда открывается потрясающий вид на город и его окрестности. Если погода позволит, то вы также можете пообедать в ресторане на самой вершине.
When I first visited the Kurhaus – the casino of Baden-Baden I was amazed. I did not expect a casino to have such a stunning and rich interior. The visit to this casino is worth every euro we lost while playing there! This casino is famous for various reasons, one of which is the fact that the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky was inspired to write his famous novel The Gambler after his visits to the Kurhaus.
Когда я первый раз посетила казино в Баден-Бадене, я была потрясена его красотой. Я никак не представляла, что интерьер баденского казино может напомнить мне Версаль или Парижскую оперу. Это казино известно во всем мире по разным причинам, одна из которых – тот, что его посещение вдохновило Федора Достоевского на написание романа “Игрок”.
Café König is probably my favorite cafe/bakery not only in Baden-Baden but in the whole world. It has an incredible selection of cakes, chocolates, quiches, pasties and everything else you can imagine. I also love to come here for breakfast after visiting the spa.

Every once in a while there is a great flea market in Baden-Baden. I love to come here with my mother and search for some treasures. There is a big selection of porcelain, home decorations and other vintage stuff.
Иногда в Баден-Бадене проходит блошиный рынок, который располагается перед Trinkhalle. Мы с мамой любим приходить сюда и искать необычные вещицы для дома: фарфоровую посуду, красивые статуэтки и даже винтажные украшения.

If you like hiking, Baden-Baden is a great place for you. One of the routes to go hiking is to walk up to the Altes Schloss (Old Castle) built in 1102! Right now all that is remained are the ruins but the view from there is spectacular. After the hike, you can also visit the restaurant located in the castle.
Если вы любите ходить пешком и дышать свежим воздухом, то Баден-Баден – подходящий для вас вариант. Один из лучших маршрутов – дорога через лес к старому замку, который был построен в 1102 году! На данный момент, от замка остались только руины, но вид отсюда открывается невероятный. Также, в здании замка находится ресторан, где можно пообедать после прогулки.
