Where to stay in Utrecht: Mother Goose Hotel

A few weekends ago my love and I decided to visit Utrecht – the city where I lived for 2 years when I first came to the Netherlands to study. Rob has been to Utrecht a few times, but I wanted to show you my favorite spots around the city and places that I used to go to when I lived there. Since I have moved out of Utrecht a lot of new places (cafes, restaurants, shops) opened, including hotels. Similarly, the new Mother Goose hotel on the Ganzenmarkt opened its doors in June, 2014. The interesting thing about the building of this hotel is that it was occupied by squatters for many years (also while I was living in Utrecht)! The moment we arrived at the hotel, I couldn’t recognize the building I used to know covered with graffitis. The work that has been done to the building to transform it to the hotel is amazing, it just felt like home! The floors of the Mother Goose hotel are separated into grey/black/white and brown goose floors and each one of them has rooms of these colors. We got the chance to stay in the white room on the White goose floor and totally loved it! Apart from the beautiful design, what added to the experience at the Mother Goose was the beautiful view on the Dom tower – the main attraction of the city of Utrecht.
