Weekends in Europe: Brugge

 

Bruges – one of the most beautiful and magical places in Northern Europe. It is located in the north of Beligum, close to the Northern sea. In the 12th to 15th centuries, Bruges was one of the most prosperous cities in Europe and one of its commercial centers. This is one of the reason for the amount of landmarks and beautiful houses and cathedrals in Bruges. It is difficult to find words to describe its magical beauty but I will give it a try. I think everyone should visit this amazing city!

 

Брюгге – один из самых волшебных и загадочных городов Европы. Он находится на севере Бельгии, недалеко от Северного моря. В 12-15 вв Брюгге был одним из самых богатых городов северной и центральной Европы и одним из главных торговых центров. Именно с этим и связано огромное количество местных достопримечательностей и невероятной красоты зданий. Передать словами его красоту очень сложно, но я все-таки попробую! 

 

 

A few months ago my parents stayed at the Canal Deluxe Bed & Breakfast in Bruges and one I saw the photos of this I booked it for the next available dates. We were very lucky to be able to book the room only one month in advance because normally it is booked for the following months. There are only two rooms available at this place, each one is a two-floor apartment with the living room with a fireplace on the ground floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the second. The view of the room is on the beautiful canal with picturesque houses.

 

Несколько месяцев назад мои родители остановились в Брюгге в Bed & Brekfast Canal Deluxe. Когда я увидела фотографии этого места, то уже на следующий день забронировала его! Нам очень повезло, что мы смогли забранировать комату на выходные всего за месяц до даты приезда. Так как комнат всего две, то на ближайшие месяцы они обычно забронированы. 

Каждая из комнат отеля представляет собой двух-этажные апартаменты с гостиной с камином на первом этаже и спальней и ванной комнатой на втором. Как можно понять из названия,  окна комнаты выходят на небольшой канал.

 

We arrived I Bruges very late in the evening and the hosts welcomed us and showed us the room where the classical music was playing and the fireplace was on. The atmosphere was really magical and cozy, we loved to spend some time in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea and Belgian chocolates that were waiting for us in the room.

 

Мы добрались до Брюгге (путь: Амстердам-Антверпен-Гент) поздно вечером и хозяева отеля встретили нас и проводили в нашу комнату, где играла классическая музыка, в камине горел огонь, а на столе нас ждали бельгийские шоколадные конфеты. Мы устроились на уютном диване возле камина и нашу усталость после утомительной  поездки как рукой сняло.

 

First thing in the morning I opened the curtains to see the beautiful view of the canal – one of the best views I have ever had from the hotel room.

 

Первым делом, проснувшись с утра, я выглянула в окно, чтобы полюбоваться чудесным видом на канал из спальни нашей комнаты. Какой же красивый вид!

Breakfast by the fireplace

Every morning, the hosts of the B&B Canal Deluxe make breakfast for their guests and bring it to the room. What a great experience it was to enjoy the warm and fresh pastries and local delicacies in front of the fire.

 

Хозяева отеля каждое утро готовят завтрак и приносят его прямо в номер. Наслаждаться свежей выпечкой и местными деликатесами перед горящим камином – невероятное удовольствие!

After breakfast, the hosts told us a little bit about Bruges and showed us the best walking routes on the map.

После завтрака хозяева рассказали нам о своих любимых местах в Брюгге и посоветовали, куда лучше отправиться на прогулку и что стоит посмотреть.

Verro Cafe

Many of you know that in every city my boyfriend and I look for great coffee places and Brugge wasn’t an exception. We had a great flat white made from Caffenation beans at Verro Cafe and an amazing apple crumble!

Как многие из вас знают, мы с Робом очень любимых находить классные кофейни в каждом городе и Брюгге не стал исключением! Первым делом мы отправились в Vero Caffe, где делают просто отличный кофе! Кофейные бобы здесь из антверпенского Caffenation, а к кофе подают разнообразные десерты: наш выбор пал на яблочный крамбл и мы не прогадали!

The center of Brugge is incredibly beautiful, even though there are crowds of tourists everywhere. The best thing in my opinion is to try to find some quiet streets with no people to see the other side of Brugge.

Центр Брюгге – невероятно красив, однако также полон толп туристов. На мой взгляд, чтобы по-настоящему прочувствовать этот город – нужно свернуть с главных улиц и потеряться среди узких улочек Брюгге, где вас не побеспокоят туристические группы.

One of the most beautiful places in Bruges is the Minnewater lake. This is where all the swans of the city live which make the atmosphere around it purely magical. Minnewater park is a also a great place for a walk, especially if you want to avoid the tourists.
