Weekends in Europe: Paris

I have already been to Paris many times in my life, but this last trip was definitely the best ever!
I would like to share with you one of the days we spent in Paris and show you a video of our trip. We stayed in a wonderful hotel, called “Villa Saxe Eiffel” on the Rive Gauche. It was the first time I have stayed on the Left bank of the Seine river and it was definitely the right decision! The area around the hotel was very quiet and beautiful and we loved exploring it!

So here it is, our perfect day in the city of love!

09:00 Breakfast in Paris can’t be without croissants, right?

10:00 Walk to the Jardin du Luxembourg. This beautiful garden is definitely my favorite in Paris, especially in the summer time when all the flowers are in bloom and you can chill on one of the chairs by the water and enjoy the sun!

11:00 Rue Bonaparte – Saint-Sulpice – Pierre Herme. After spending some time in Le Jardin du Luxembourg we went down the Rue Bonaparte to get some macarons at the Pierre Herme boutique to get some macarons. On the way we stopped at the Saint-Sulpice church located in the beautiful square.

11:30 To enjoy our little sweet treats we sat down by the Seine and the view on the Louvre and Notre-Dame de Paris.

La Seine and L’Ile de la Cite

12:00 We continued to the Notre-Dame de Paris and stopped to take a picture of this beautiful house at Rue Chanoinesse.

12:30 Afterwards we crossed the Seine and went to one of my favorite areas in Paris – Le Marais! We walked through the narrow streets searching for a location to have some lunch. We ended up in the restaurant located right next to the Archives Nationales de Paris.

Lunch at La Terrasse des Archives

14:00 After lunch we went inside the gardens of the Archives Nationales – beautiful location hidden in the middle of Le Marais. The are many hidden gardens in this area that are very nice to find and explore!

14:30 The next stop in our plan was my favorite eclair shop in the world – L’Eclair de Genie. It was very difficult to chose from the wide selection of eclairs because we wanted to try all of them! But we managed and here are the ones we have chosen:

Eclairs de Genie

We loved the Apricot eclair – the new flavor for this summer! Pistachio – Raspberry was the most beautiful one, but not my favorite in terms of the taste. And of course my all time favorite – Salted Caramel.

We decided to enjoy our beautiful eclairs at the Place des Vosges – one of the most beautiful squares in Paris! It was my first time to visit this square and I loved its peacefulness and beautiful architecture.

15:30 We finished our dessert and decided to walk down to the Place de la Bastille and then ended up on the Boulevard Bourdon. I never expected to see something like this in the centre of Paris – a wide canal with a lot of parked boats – it reminded me a little bit of Amsterdam 🙂 And look at the color of this water!

16:00 On the way back to the hotel we decided to pass through the island of Saint Louis – a smaller island on the Seine connected to L’ile de la Cite. We then crossed the river and got back to the Rive Gauche and stopped for a coffee and a couple of choux at Odette. We got some amazing view, right?

17:00 On the way home we passed by Bon Marche and got some snacks to eat back at the hotel. We went a little bit crazy and got a lot of cheese, ham, foie gras, berries, wine etc. Real french experience!
Unfortunately, the moment we set everything at the table of our balcony it started to rain so we had to move inside, but this didn’t ruin the experience 🙂

22:00 Our day ended with the Arctic Monkeys concert at the Rock en Seine festival! This was the reason we went to Paris in the first place. Arctic monkeys is my favorite band so it was the best ending of this day I could ever imagine <3

And here is a short video about our whole trip to Paris! Enjoy!
