Coffee in Amsterdam: Westergasfabriek

Flat white at Espressofabriek

Yesterday, my friend Ira and I went for a coffee to the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. I have never been to this place before, but now I know I will definitely come back. The history of the Westergasfabriek dates back to the end of the 19th century. All of the buildings on the site of the ex-factory are designed in the Dutch Neo-Rennaissance style. After the closure of the factory in the 1967, it was redeveloped into the area where annual fairs and festivals take place. At the moment Westergasfabriek is a nice place to spend your afternoon, drink a cup of coffee at Espressofabriek and visit one of the galleries and shops located there. The visit to the old factory can be combined with the walk in the beautiful Westerpark.
